Alright so I know I’ve mentioned this before but now this is for something totally different. I have been doing NaNoWriMo for two years now and I plan on doing it this November too. Now for those who have no idea what NaNoWriMo is, I’ll explain briefly. NaNoWriMo is a writing competition where you have to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. That month is November. The site is http://www.nanowrimo.org and it is a non-profit organization that accepts tax-deductable donations. Okay end of lobying for it.
So I have done this for two years and I’ve never won it. I’ve also never finished something I’ve started and I’m kind of considering finishing one of them. But I’m not sure… ah the delemas that I face. Anyone who thinks I should finish just for the heck of it… post anyone who’s reading this post if you want me to put up a chapter or something on google docs and share the link. Other than that this point was either pointless or not…
Ugh… I have been so dead for the past week or so. I’ve had a cold and I’ve been living off of Haal’s Relief Vitamin C drops. They don’t seem to be working and I haven’t been able to get a ton of sleep because I can’t breathe and the medicine doesn’t do much. So I was wondering since people seem to be looking at this if not reading it. Anyone have any suggestions for remedies? Herbal teas, etc. I don’t care as long as it works and isn’t illegal in the United States I’ll try it. I’m that desperate…
Alright so where I am got freezing rain last night and well… I am not happy. I am so done with this winter it’s not even funny. I can not wait for it to be spring. This winter has been cold and unpleasent, and it has been a very depressing environment. I am definitely looking forward to the warm weather and the sun so I can take this laptop and get out of the house into the sun. Also I can’t wait for school to end which only happens in the spring so… Get here already spring!!!
So I have been a member of the site Sodahead.com (http://www.sodahead.com) for a while and I’ve gotten into many arguements before but this one has officially made my blood boil. So this guy claims that GLSEN is trying to target little children and do horrible things to them… and other stuff. I disagree greatly! And I argued my point being completely civil and using sound reasoning and when I decided that I was done arguing about this and to just let it go because he would not change I tried leaving the conversation. But this guy just kept arguing and he wasn’t supporting it with details at all. Is it so wrong to want clarification as to why a person thinks the way they do? And is it so wrong to want to leave an arguement and be civil about something for once?
Why is it that no one in this world knows what civility means? What is the point to having a word if the concept does not exist in the minds of the people? Should this be changed? Yes it should! People need to learn how to get over themselves and learn that they aren’t the only people in the world. There are others that deserve just as much respect as you do. Don’t let people trample over you, and don’t let people trample over others. It’s not right. Excuse the rant but I’m tired of it, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
So I have been doing Nanowrimo or national novel writing month for two years now, I started with Script Frenzy however. These are writing competitions that take place during the months of November and April. Now I have never won one of these competitions but they are still fun to participate in. They can be found at these sites:
These are non-profit organizations and they work on donations alone, so if you sign up you should donate if you can. I will be doing Script Frenzy again this year, and I’ve done Nano for the past two years. Feel free to join me! If you feel like adding me as a writing buddy comment and I’ll get back to you!
Okay since I’ve been posting on this thing about books recently I might as well post about one of the nerdiest most amazing sites there is. I am a memeber of Goodreads as shown by my Amazing Books page on here and it is one of the most entertaining sites when you are bored and slightly obsessive like me. I spent like three hours last night updating my goodreads because I was bored. So if you want a place to:
- Keep track of books you’ve read, are currently reading, want to read, or want to buy
- buy and sell books online
- get caught up with authors you love
- get recommendations from friends and authors
- or share your writing
Get a goodreads account! The site is http://www.goodreads.com it’s simple and free. (However the books that you buy from the site do indeed have to be bought and a few extra fees are tagged on there). I would highly recommend this site, obviously. And mine is http://www.goodreads.com/tonks4life . If you want to add me on goodreads comment and I’ll get back to you! Enjoy!
